Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is two Japanese words, Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy commonly known as Universal Life Energy.

Electrical Stimulation

Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is the use of low level electrical stimulation via electrodes placed on the skin. It is used in neurological and orthopedic conditions to strengthen muscle, retard muscle atrophy, and to re-educate muscle for patients that are non-weight bearing or have limited use of a muscle.

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is used for pain management by increasing circulation and activating the bodies own chemical pain relievers.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy provides deep heating with sound waves. This helps decrease scar tissue formation and shortens healing time. Deep tight muscle spasms and chronic ligament and tendon injuries often benefit from ultrasound therapies. Other modalities are usually combined with ultrasound to allow for maximal healing.

Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy benefits most of our patients undergoing rehab. Massages will improve circulation, flexibility and joint mobility.

A deliberate and focused technique of touching, massage is more than petting. Massage reduces stress, aides in healing and provides ongoing health care.

Veterinary Chiropractic

Veterinary Chiropractic treatments are a foundation for maintaining and achieving health in your pet and are used in almost all animals undergoing rehabilitation. Adjustments facilitate normal movement in the spinal column, limbs and pelvis. These treatments are crucial to preventing injuries in athletic dogs and for reducing pain and inflammation in injured pets.

Dr. Joe Whalen is certified in Veterinary Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association and is an instructor in Veterinary Chiropractic at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center.
